Meteoroscape photography expressed the “Gentle conversation is started”
■ Description
We will break away from the typical landscape photographs that take landmarks, and create “individuality”. There may be the aspect of reinventing the wheel a little but It is a work that reflects the boom of Disney movie, ‘Frozen’ in Japan. The movement was mentioned so that ‘contemporary’ matter was reflected to it.
But the complexity of ‘contemporary’ age does not allow to just stay there.
The reason is that Oze, which is the photogenic highland, has a history that Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) has been greatly involved in the environmental conservation activity there.
And around the time when I shot these, Oze was within the potential scattering of radioactive materials released by the nuclear accident caused by the earthquake. This accident is believed to have been caused by the TEPCO’s governance system.
To be honest, I was pretty reluctant to get there…but it was a premonition that this record would express the complexity of ‘contemporary’ age. Nuclear accident that occurred in Fukushima was not enough to take up only one side.
As a result, the template of the photographic work called Meteoroscape was able to be constructed from then on.
