From above, Japan in winter is surprisingly a snowy mountain country.
I told that the shooting location coming up next could have been the den of Maou, but when I opened the box, it was actually Mt. Zao. Roughly speaking, it is the same because Mt. Zao is famous for the Snow Monsters. These “Snow Monsters” are a kind of tree ice. However, Zao’s are truly different from usual glittering ice trees, and can be said they are such unique monsters, I suppose.This is the result of Direct Attack of cold, wet air flowing in from the Sea of Japan on Aomori-todomatsu grown near the summit.
But that seemed to mean there wasn’t a lot of sunshine, and from what I hear, when it’s sunny like in an ad, it’s a big event. It was a bit pity that the mountain had been snowing all the time, but I thought the picture of such stormy weather may be rare and went to take it.
Touching about the method, I regarded HDR as the same as summed average synthesis, and a plurality of photographs taken in stages from the dark part to the bright part are averaged to eliminate snowfalls and turbulent dusts. The idea is to capture just the essence of the immovable tree ice and create a sense of reality that cannot be achieved with just one photo.
The reason why it became like Final Fantasy might be because last time it was like Dragon Quest. But in some ways, you could see it’s the world of viruses seen through an electron microscope or a world overrun by giants. It seems to be a reflection of the real world, I wonder.
Do you remember 2 years ago, the effects of global warming were visible in Lake Hibara? In 2022 then, Mt. Zao, in which they were also said to have been troubled with snowless, was hit by heavy snow and recovered. It is not clear whether this is related to the slowing of human activity due to the covid-19.
