Scenes of “Meeting in the snow country” based on Blue color
■ Description

“The train came out of the long tunnel into the snow country.” – Japanese novelist, Yasunari Kawabata started to weave his story “Snow Country” at 1935. They say he did location hunting at Echigo Yuzawa, northern east area in Japan.
Then, where is the tunnel?

It’s surely ovbious since he left some clues into the story, which was like this; a business person from Tokyo, Mr. Shimamura visited the snow country by train to see Komako, the Geisha girl. This means the tunnel is located at Mt. Tanigawa and the train line is called ‘Joetsu line’ working even nowadays.
This area after that turned into the ski resort for people living in Tokyo, which was the new sport for dating trip vividly colored by love songs and movies thosedays.

Although the new sport bubble poped down as the economy declined, ‘Snow Country’ is still igniting with the images of rendezvous.
